"Deep Love" Wins the 36th Moscow IFF
Deep Love, a film directed by Jan P. Matuszyński and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the top prize in the Documentary Film Competition at the 36th Moscow International Film Festival.
Polish Films at 16th Taipei IFF
The 16th Taipei International Film Festival will feature a special section dedicated to Polish cinema. The festival lineup features over 30 Polish films. Polish presence in the festival lineup has been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Ida" in Taiwanese and Japanese Cinemas
Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Taiwan on July 25, 2014 and in Japan on August 2nd, 2014.

Roman Polański's Producer in Poland
June 24 marked the press conference for of Roman Polański's upcoming production of a film on the Dreyfus affair. The press conference took place at Krakow's Sukiennice and was attended by Robert Benmussa, Polański's French producer.
"The Island" Now Eligible for Oscars
Wyspa (Spanish title: La Isla, English title: The Island), a film directed by Katarzyna Klimkiewicz and Dominga Sotomayor and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the grand prize at the Huesca festival in Spain. This award makes the film eligible for the 2015 Academy Awards.
"Joanna" awarded in the USA
Joanna, a film directed by Aneta Kopacz and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received two awards at the Palm Springs International Shortfest, which closed on June 23.
"Wałęsa. Man of Hope" in Cinemas
Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei (Wałęsa. Man of Hope), a film directed by Andrzej Wajda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Denmark and Australia in June 2014. In July 2014 Walesa will be realeased in New Zealand.
"Our Curse" Awarded in Sheffield
June 12 marked the closing of the Sheffield Doc/Fest international documentary film festival. Nasza klątwa (Our Curse), a film directed by Tomasz Śliwiński, received the festival's Best Student Film award.
"The Word" at Film Festivals Abroad
Obietnica (The Word), a film directed by Anna Kazejak and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, is scheduled to screen at several international film festivals.

At the upcoming 36th Moscow International Film Festival, Krzysztof Skonieczny's feature debut Hardkor Disko will screen in Main Competition. The festival's documentary sections feature two films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Deep Love by Jan P. Matuszyński and Joanna by Aneta Kopacz.
Zanussi and Wasilewski Awarded
At the 13th Transilvania International Film Festival, which closed on June 8 in Romania, Tomasz Wasilewski received the award for Best Director for his Płynące wieżowce (Floating Skyscrapers), a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival's grand prize went to Stockholm, a Spanish production directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
Polish Animations at 38th Annecy IFF
The lineup of the short film section of the 38th Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France has been announced. The festival's several sections will feature films by Polish filmmakers. The Annecy International Animated Film Festival runs from June 9 through June 14.

Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei (Wałęsa. Man of Hope), a film directed by Andrzej Wajda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Italy on June 6, 2014.
"Ida" Well-Received by US Press
Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was released theatrically in the United States on May 2, 2014 and was warmly received by American film critics. Box office revenues have reached almost one million dollars.

54th Krakow Film Festival
May 25 marked the launch of the 54th Krakow Film Festival, an event co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival lineup features a number of Polish films. This year's special country focus is on the United Kingdom.

Festival guests will include a group of Polish producers, invited to pitch their latest projects.
