Polish films at 18th Guanajuato Film Festival
Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen at the 18th Guanajuato Film Festival, which runs from July 17 through July 26 in Mexico.
"The Magic Mountain" awarded in Karlovy Vary
Czarodziejska góra (The Magic Mountain), a Polish-French-Romanian animated documentary film directed by Anca Damian received the Special Jury Mention at the 50th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

THE INAUGURATION OF 'PICTURE POLAND'
July 2 marked the launch of a new project called Picture Poland, aimed at promoting Polish cinema among airline passengers.
Creators of "THE QUEEN OF SILENCE" AND SŁAWOMIR IDZIAK WIN DEUTSCHER KAMERAPREIS
Creators of Królowa ciszy (The Queen of Silence), a documentary film by Agnieszka Zwiefka, received the prestigious Deutscher Kamerapreis award in two categories: Best Cinematography and Best Editing. Polish cinematographer Sławomir Idziak received the award for lifetime achievement.
"REFUGIADO" WINS CÓNDOR DE PLATA AWARDS
Refugiado (Polish title: Pod ochroną), a film directed by Diego Lerman and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received three Cóndor de Plata awards of the Argentine Film Critics Association.
POLISH PROJECT AT EX ORIENTE FILM WORKSHOP
Over the Limit by Marta Prus will be one of twelve projects participating in the Ex Oriente Film year-long workshop for creative documentary projects. The film is produced by Maciej Kubicki.
JANUSZ GAJOS AND HANNA POLAK AWARDED IN MALTA
Janusz Gajos received the award for Best Actor at the Valletta Film Festival in Malta for his performance in BODY/CIAŁO, a film by Małgorzata Szumowska. The award for Best Documentary Film went to Nadejdą lepsze czasy (Something Better to Come) by Hanna Polak.
"CARTE BLANCHE" WINS GRAND PRIZE AT SHANGHAI IFF
Carte Blanche, a film directed by Jacek Lusiński, received the Grand Prize of the Jury at the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival.
"BODY/CIAŁO" AWARDED IN BRUSSELS
BODY/CIAŁO, a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has received the jury prize for best director at the Brussels International Film Festival.
"STARTING POINT" WINS AT SHEFFIELD DOC/FEST
Punkt wyjścia (Starting Point), a film directed by Michał Szcześniak, received the Short Doc Award in the short documentary competition at the 2015 Sheffield Doc/Fest. The film was produced within the framework of the 'First Documentary' programme at the Polish Filmmakers Association's Munk Studio.
"BODY/CIAŁO" WINS IN PERU
Małgorzata Szumowska's latest feature BODY/CIAŁO, recently awarded the Silver Bear Award for Best Director at the Berlin IFF, has now received the grand prize of the Al Este de Lima festival in Peru.

POLISH ANIMATIONS AT 39th ANNECY IFF
The lineup of this year's 39th Annecy International Animated Film Festival has been announced, featuring a total of four Polish titles. The Annecy IFF runs from June 15 through June 20.
SHOOTING COMMENCES ON MARIE CURIE BIOPIC
Filming of the Marie Curie biopic commenced yesterday at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The film is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
AFTER CANNES: "THE HERE AFTER" REVIEWS
May 21, 2015 marked the world premiere of The Here After (Polish title: Intruz), a film directed by Magnus von Horn and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, at the 68th Cannes International Film Festival. The film was warmly received by the audience and by Polish and international film journalists alike.

On May 24, 2015 finished the 68th Cannes International Film Festival. The festival lineup featured several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. In the event also took part the representatives of the Polish film industry.
BODO KOX RECOGNIZED BY SCRIPTEAST
The Krzysztof Kieślowski ScripTeast Award was presented at the 68th Cannes International Film Festival. Special mention went to Polish director Bodo Kox.

The 10 year anniversary gala of the Polish Film Institute was held on May 11, 2015 at the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw.
