Polish Docs at 5th DokuBazaar
Twelve Polish films have been selected to screen in the lineup of the DokuBazaar International Documentary Film Festival, which runs from September 30 through October 2 in Ljubljana.
Polish Films at CinEast
Several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen at the 6th CinEast International Film Festival, which runs in Luxembourg from October 9 through October 27, 2013.
Silver Eye Award Nominations
This year's Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival launches on October 24. The festival framework includes the tenth edition of the East Silver Market, which will feature a substantial number of Polish films, 15 of which have been nominated for the Silver Eye Award.

Members of the Czech Film and Television Academy (ČFTA) selected Burning Bush by Agnieszka Holland to represent the Czech Republic in the running for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award.
"Viva Bel@rus!" Awarded in Istanbul
Żywie Biełaruś (Viva Bel@rus!), a film directed by Krzysztof Łukaszewicz, received the Golden Scales Award, the grand prize of the third edition of the 'Crime and Punishment' Festival in Istanbul.
Polish Films at 29th Haifa IFF
The lineup of the 29th Haifa International Film Festival features several Polish films that have been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival runs through September 28, 2013.
"Świteź" Wins in Belarus
Świteź (The Lost Town of Świteź), a film directed by Kamil Polak and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has won the Animaevka International Animated Film Festival in Belarus.
Play Poland Film Festival 2013
The third edition of Play Poland Film Festival will run from October 3 through December 12, 2013. The festival is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Committee members selected Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei (Wałęsa. Man of Hope), directed by Andrzej Wajda, to represent Poland in the running for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the FIPRESCI Jury Prize in the Special Presentations section of the 38th Toronto International FIlm Festival, which closed on September 15.

"Ida" Wins 38th Gdynia Film Festival!
The winners of the 38th Gdynia Film Festival have been announced. The top winner of the festival was Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski, winning a total of four awards, including the festival's grand prize: the Golden Lions Award for Best Film. The Silver Lions Award went to two films: W imię... (In the Name Of...) by Małgorzata Szumowska and Chce się żyć (Life Feels Good) by Maciej Pieprzyca. The jury also gave a Special Jury Prize to Miłość (Loving) by Sławomir Fabicki and Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues) by Katarzyna Rosłaniec. The Platinum Lions Award for Lifetime Achievement went to director Jerzy Antczak.

Polish Films in San Sebastián
Drogówka (Traffic Department), a film directed by Wojciech Smarzowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen out of competition in the Zabaltegi section of the 61st San Sebastián International Film Festival, which runs from September 20 through September 28, 2013. Meanwhile Sceny sprzed (Spanish title: Escenas previas; English title: Previous Scenes), a student film by Aleksandra Maciuszek, has been selected for screening in the festival's student film section.
38th Gdynia Film Festival Launched
The 38th Gdynia Film Festival, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, opened last night. The event was launched by artistic director of the festival Michał Chaciński and mayor of Gdynia Wojciech Szczurek.
