"Polish Illusions" at Festivals
Pomorskie iluzje (Polish Illusions), directed by Jacob Dammas and Helge Renner and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, screened at the Tempo International Documentary Film Festival in Stockholm, which ran from March 5 through March 10, 2013. The film will also screen in the DOCU/LIFE competition at the Docudays International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Kiev, which runs from March 22 through March 28.
Polish Films in Montevideo
Seven Polish films will screen at the 31st Montevideo International Film Festival in Uruguay. The festival runs from March 23 through April 6.
Polish Feature Film Competition
The lineup of the Polish Feature Film Competition at the 6th Off Plus Camera festival has been announced. This year will mark the first time that the festival presents awards for Best Actor and Best actress. The OPC festival runs from April 12 through April 21.
"Rosa" in New York City
The Polish Cultural Institute is organizing a screening of Róża (Rosa) by Wojciech Smarzowski, in co-operation with EUNIC-member European Cultural Institutes. The film will screen as part of the Disappearing Act V series of European cinema.
Polish Documentaries at Hot Docs
Thanks to the efforts of the Krakow Film Foundation, with support from the Polish Film Institute, Poland will feature as a special guest at this year's edition of the Hot Docs film festival. Ten Polish films screening in the 'Made In' section of the festival and one film in the 'Nightvision' section, a choice of Polish producers attending the Hot Docs Forum, and one Polish project featured in the pitching session - these are the key elements of the Polish programme at Hot Docs.
Jerzy Stuhr Awarded in Prague
On March 17, Jerzy Stuhr received an award for lifetime achievement and contribution to world cinema at the 20th FebioFest International Film Festival in Prague.
Agnieszka Holland Exhibition Opening
March 14, 2013 brought the opening of the "Poland. Europe. The World: the Faces of Agnieszka Holland" exhibition at the 20th FebioFest International Film Festival in Prague. The exhibition was organized by the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Five Polish films are featured in the lineup of the 13th goEast Festival of Central and Eastern European Film, which runs from April 10 through April 16, 2013 in Wiesbaden.
Agnieszka Holland Exhibition at FebioFest
An exhibition entitled "Poland. Europe. The World: The Faces of Agnieszka Holland", curated by the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź, will open on March 14, 2013 at the 20th FebioFest International Film Festival in Prague. The exhibition is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
Polish Cinema Days in Romania
An event entitled Polish Cinema Days will be held in seven cities in Romania between March 22 and April 14, 2013. The event is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
Polish Film Wins Audience Award
The Audience Award for Best Film in Tampere (Finland) went to Łukasz Ostalski, author of the short film Matka (Mother). The film screened in International Competition at the 43rd Tampere International Short Film Festival in Finland.
"Entangled" Awarded in Prague
On March 12, the documentary Uwikłani (Entangled) by Lidia Duda received the Best Director award at the 15th One World festival in Prague. The grand prize in the festival's competition went to The Act of Killing by Joshua Oppenheimer. The awards ceremony will be held on March 13.
Camerimage on Oscar-Qualifying List
The Plus Camerimage International Festival of the Art of Cinematography has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as an Academy Award-qualifying festival in the Best Short Documentary category.
"Suicide Room" in Czech Cinemas
Sala Samobójców (Suicide Room), directed by Jan Komasa and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will be released in Czech cinemas on March 28, 2013.
Poland as Guest of Honour at Annecy Film Festival
Poland will feature as the guest of honour at the 37th Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which runs from June 10 through June 15, 2013.
"Floating Skyscrapers" at Tribeca Film Festival
Płynące wieżowce (Floating Skyscrapers) by Tomasz Wasilewski has been selected as one of 14 feature films to screen in the Viewpoints section at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. The film's New York screening will mark its world premiere.

The lineup of the 17th Sofia International Film Festival features a number of Polish films, including several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival runs from March 7 through March 17, 2013.
"The Mole" in Czech Cinemas
Kret (The Mole), directed by Rafael Lewandowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has been released theatrically in the Czech Republic.
"Being Like Deyna" in the UK and Ireland
Być jak Kazimierz Deyna (Being Like Deyna) by Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz will be released in selected theatres across the United Kingdom and Ireland on March 8, 2013. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Rogalik" Recognized at ZagrebDox
Rogalik by Paweł Ziemilski received special recognition in the young filmmaker section of the 9th ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival.
"Ve stinu": Czech Best Film Award
Ve stínu (Polish title: W cieniu, English title: In the Shadow), directed by David Ondříček and made in co-production between the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, received a total of nine 2012 Czech Lion awards. The film had been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
