"Loving Vincent" Nominated for European Film Award

On October 24, 2017 European Film Academy announced nominees for the European Film Award in Animated Feature Film category. One of nominated films is Twój Vincent (Loving Vincent) by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Polish Film Week in Tokyo

From October 21st to 27th film lovers in Tokyo will have a chance to familiarize themselves a little bit more with Polish cinema. Brilla Shorts Theater will host a screening of 22 short documentaries and animations, including documentary films by Krzysztof Kieślowski.

Izabela Kiszka-Hoflik Appointed as Acting Director of the Polish Film Institute

Following the dismissal of General Director of the Polish Film Institute Magdalena Sroka on October 9 (official statement available on the the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage website) on October 16 the Minister of Culture and National Heritage professor Piotr Gliński appointed Izabela Kiszka-Hoflik as acting Director of the Polish Film Institute until the new General Director of the Polish Film Institute is selected using the procedure outlined in Article 14 of the Act on Cinematography of June 30, 2005.
