ANDRZEJ ŻUŁAWSKI DIES AT 75
Andrzej Żuławski, acclaimed director, screenwriter, writer, passed away on 17 February at the age of 75, following a long illness. Żuławski was the director of award-winning films, including Trzecia część nocy (The Third Part of the Night), Diabeł (The Devil), Possession, Szamanka (Shaman), Fidelity, and Cosmos.
"Crache Coeur" in French Cinemas
Feature debut directed by Julia Kowalski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute Crache Coeur (Raging Rose, Znam kogoś, kto cię szuka) was released theatrically on February 17 in France.
POLISH PRESENCE AT 66TH BERLINALE
The 66th Berlin International Film Festival runs from February 11 through February 21, 2016. The festival lineup features several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival will also host a number of events related to Polish cinema.
"Agnus Dei" in French Cinemas
Agnus Dei (Niewinne, Les innocentes), a film directed by Anne Fontaine and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was released theatrically in France on February 10.

The Polish Film Institute has joined forces with Festival Scope, a platform for new channels of film distribution. Festival Scope will feature a selection of Polish films, including film debuts and films that screened at major international film festivals.

Córki Dancingu (The Lure) by Agnieszka Smoczyńska had the excellent reception at the Sundance Film Festival 2016. The feature debut co-financed by the Polish Film Institute screens in the World Dramatic Cinema Competition.

"ESCAPE FROM THE 'LIBERTY' CINEMA" DVD RELEASE IN THE UK
January will mark the UK DVD release of Wojciech Marczewski's Ucieczka z kina 'Wolność' (Escape from the 'Liberty' Cinema) by Second Run. The film was previously available on DVD as part of the Polish Cinema Classics Vol. II collection, released in 2013.

Zud, the feature debut by Marta Minorowicz, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has been selected to screen in the Generation Kplus competition at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.

Ja, Olga Hepnarová (I, Olga Hepnarová), a co-production between the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, directed by Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will screen in the Panorama section of the upcoming 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
