Polish Films at Moscow IFF
At the upcoming 36th Moscow International Film Festival, Krzysztof Skonieczny's feature debut Hardkor Disko will screen in Main Competition. The festival's documentary sections feature two films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Deep Love by Jan P. Matuszyński and Joanna by Aneta Kopacz.
Polish Animations at 38th Annecy IFF
The lineup of the short film section of the 38th Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France has been announced. The festival's several sections will feature films by Polish filmmakers. The Annecy International Animated Film Festival runs from June 9 through June 14.
Zanussi and Wasilewski Awarded
At the 13th Transilvania International Film Festival, which closed on June 8 in Romania, Tomasz Wasilewski received the award for Best Director for his Płynące wieżowce (Floating Skyscrapers), a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival's grand prize went to Stockholm, a Spanish production directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
"Wałęsa. Man of Hope" in Italy
Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei (Wałęsa. Man of Hope), a film directed by Andrzej Wajda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Italy on June 6, 2014.
"Ida" Well-Received by US Press
Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was released theatrically in the United States on May 2, 2014 and was warmly received by American film critics. Box office revenues have reached almost one million dollars.
"The Congress" in Italian Cinemas
The Congress, a film directed by Ari Folman and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will be released theatrically in Italy on June 12, 2014.
54th Krakow Film Festival
May 25 marked the launch of the 54th Krakow Film Festival, an event co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival lineup features a number of Polish films. This year's special country focus is on the United Kingdom.

Polish Documentaries in Sheffield
The 20th Sheffield Doc/Fest runs from June 7 through June 12. The festival's competition lineup features two films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Joanna by Aneta Kopacz and Nasza klątwa (Our Curse) by Tomasz Śliwiński. Festival guests will include a group of Polish producers, invited to pitch their latest projects.

"Blind Chance" in Cannes
A digitally remastered copy of Krzysztof Kieślowski's Przypadek (Blind Chance; 1981) was screened in the prestigious Cannes Classics section of the 67th Cannes International Film Festival. The film's digital remastering was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Małgorzata Szumowska's feature W imię... (In the Name Of...), a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Germany on May 15, 2014.
Polish Films at 67th Cannes IFF
May 14 marked the launch of the 67th Cannes International Film Festival. The festival lineup features a number of events involving Polish cinema, as well as several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. Fragmenty, a graduation film by Agnieszka Woszczyńska, a feature co-production between Argentina, Poland and France entitled Refugiado (Polish title: Pod ochroną), lensed by Wojciech Staroń and Niebieski pokój, an animated film by Tomasz Siwiński, are screened at sections Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (Directors' Fortnight) and Semaine de la Critique (Critics' Week). All three films have been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

May 14, 2014 marked the French theatrical release of Płynące wieżowce (Floating Skyscrapers), a film directed by Tomasz Wasilewski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

"Our Curse" Wins in Lisbon
Nasza klątwa (Our Curse), a documentary film directed by Tomasz Śliwiński and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the audience award at the 11th Indielisboa Film Festival in Portugal.
"The Girl from the Wardrobe" Wins
Dziewczyna z szafy (The Girl from the Wardrobe) a film directed by Bodo Kox and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, won the top prize at the 24th Mediawave Music and Film Festival in Hungary.
