Polish Films Awarded in Cottbus

The student jury of the 23rd Cottbus Film Festival, which closed on November 10, awarded Dziewczyna z szafy (The Girl From the Wardrobe), a film directed by Bodo Kox and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The Short Feature Competition jury gave the Best Film award to Maria Zbąska's Psubrat (Brother Dog), also co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

"Fuck For Forest" Nominated

On November 6, the nominations for the prestigious Cinema Eye Honors awards for documentary filmmakers were announced in Los Angeles. One of the nominated films is Fuck For Forest, a film directed by Michał Marczak and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

"Gabriel" Awarded at Schlingel

On Saturday, October 19, young actor Jan Rotowski accepted the Special Jury Prize of the 18th Schlingel Film Festival for the film Gabriel, directed by Mikołaj Haremski. This international children's film festival has been organized annually in Chemnitz since 1996.

Co-Production Agreement Between Poland and Israel

The recent co-production agreement between Poland and Israel entered into force on September 11, 2013, enabling co-production between partners from these two countries to apply for public funding in both states. The ratification of this agreement opens the legal path for applying for public funding in Israel for Polish-Israeli co-productions.
