Polish Film Wins Audience Award
The Audience Award for Best Film in Tampere (Finland) went to Łukasz Ostalski, author of the short film Matka (Mother). The film screened in International Competition at the 43rd Tampere International Short Film Festival in Finland.
"Entangled" Awarded in Prague
On March 12, the documentary Uwikłani (Entangled) by Lidia Duda received the Best Director award at the 15th One World festival in Prague. The grand prize in the festival's competition went to The Act of Killing by Joshua Oppenheimer. The awards ceremony will be held on March 13.
Camerimage on Oscar-Qualifying List
The Plus Camerimage International Festival of the Art of Cinematography has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as an Academy Award-qualifying festival in the Best Short Documentary category.

"Ve stinu": Czech Best Film Award
Ve stínu (Polish title: W cieniu, English title: In the Shadow), directed by David Ondříček and made in co-production between the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, received a total of nine 2012 Czech Lion awards. The film had been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
FebioFest 2013 - Polish Films in Prague

Oscars from Krakow?
On February 27, 2013, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, for the second time in six months, extended its list of Krakow Film Festival winners eligible for consideration for Oscar nominations. The list of qualifying awards now includes four winners of Krakow's short film competition.

"Warsaw 1935" Press Conference
March 15 will mark the theatrical release of Warszawa 1935 (Warsaw 1935), a 3D film presenting Poland's capital in the period before the Second World War. On February 20, the film's press conference was held at Iluzjon cinema, where the film's second trailer was revealed.

On 15 February, the Generation section awards were presented at the 63rd International Film Festival in Berlin. The Crystal Bear for best film in the Generation 14 plus section went to Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues) by Katarzyna Rosłaniec. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
