"Papusza" Wins in India
Papusza, a film directed by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received two top awards at the 12th Pune International Film Festival in India.
Polish Films in Rotterdam
January 22 will mark the launch of the 43rd Rotterdam International Film Festival. In addition to the world premiere of Małe stłuczki (Little Crushes) and a presentation of Tomasz Wasilewski's latest project at CineMart, the festival lineup also features a number of other Polish productions.
Polish Animations at Cartoon Movie
The Cartoon Movie forum, scheduled to take place in March, has recently announced the lineup of this year's edition. Among the 55 films presented at the Lyon event this year are five animated films made by Polish producers.
"The Word" at 2014 Berlinale
Obietnica (The Word), a film directed by Anna Kazejak and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will screen in the Generation section of the upcoming 64th Berlin International Film Festival.

The lineup of the 37th Göteborg International Film Festival, starting on January 24, features several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival will also screen a retrospective of animated films by Polish filmmaker Jerzy Kucia.

The lineup of the Berlinale Shorts competition at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival was announced on January 13. The list of participants of Berlinale Talents (formerly known as Talent Campus) and projects at the Co-Production Market were also announced.

Małgorzata Szumowska's feature W imię... (In the Name Of...), a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Belgium on January 8, 2014.
Agnieszka Holland Chairs EFA
On January 1, 2014, Polish director Agnieszka Holland took over the position of Chairwoman of the European Film Academy Board. The EFA Board also has five other new members.
"Imagine" in German Cinemas
January 2, 2014 marked the German theatrical release of Imagine, a film directed by Andrzej Jakimowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
A Good Year for Polish Films
11 minut (11 Minutes), a film by Jerzy Skolimowski, will receive support from Eurimages; the decision was made at the December meeting of Eurimages representatives in Vienna. This marks the fourth Polish film to receive Eurimages funding in 2013.

Wasilewski's New Project in Rotterdam
The 43rd Rotterdam International Film Festival, scheduled to run from January 22 through February 2), has announced its list of 25 projects selected for the CineMart co-production market. The market will feature films from around the world, one of which will be Zjednoczone Stany Miłości (United States of Love), the latest project by Tomasz Wasilewski.
Kościukiewicz Selected as 2014 Shooting Star
Mateusz Kościukiewicz is one of ten European actors selected as the 2014 Shooting Stars. The actor was nominated for the title by the Polish Film Institute.
"The Christening" in Brussels
Chrzest (The Christening), a film directed by Marcin Wrona and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will screen at the Flagey cinema in Brussels between December 18, 2013 and January 24, 2014.

The Clermont-Ferrand film festival has announced this year's lineup; Polish films will screen in two competition sections at the world's top short film festival.
Polish-Indian Filmmaking Co-Operation
The audiovisual co-production agreement signed between Poland and India on July 4, 2012 has born its first fruit. Based on this intergovernmental agreement, Polish producer Artevision signed a co-production agreement in November for the production of a feature animated film project entitled Hot Heart Story, co-produced with Auracine Entertainment, a producer from Calcutta.

The Congress, a film directed by Ari Folman and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the 2013 European Film Award for best European Animated Feature Film.
"Wałęsa" Oscar Campaign
The Oscar campaign of Andrzej Wajda's feature Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei (Wałęsa. Man of Hope) in the United States has been launched. The campaign is co-financed and co-ordinated by the Polish Film Institute.
