American Film Critics' Award for Agata Kulesza and "Ida"
Ida - a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute has been nominated and awarded by another film critics assosciations and circles in the USA. December 14 brought two awards of The San Francisco Film Critics Cirle (SFFCC) in categories: Best Foreign Language Picture and Best Cinematography.
"Ida" Voted Best Film of 2014!
December 13 marked the European Films Awards ceremony in Riga. Ida, a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the award for Best European Film of 2014. The film also won the Best European Director award for Paweł Pawlikowski and Best European Screenwriter award for Paweł Pawlikowski and Rebecca Lenkiewicz. Łukasz Żal and Ryszard Lenczewski received the Carlo Di Palma Award for Best European Cinematographer. Ida also received the EFA People's Choice Award, the winner of which is selected by European viewers in an online vote.
"Life Feels Good" in Japanese Cinemas
Chce się żyć (Life Feels Good), a film directed by Maciej Pieprzyca, was released theatrically in Japan on December 13. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Ida" Nominated for Golden Globes
Nominations for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards, the annual awards of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, were announced on December 11 in Beverly Hills. Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received a nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Polish Documentaries in Competition
On December 9, the Sundance Institute announced the lineup of the short film competition at next year's Sundance festival, which takes place in January. In a little over a month, two Polish short films, both co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will compete for the title of Best Short Film: Punkt wyjścia (Starting Point) by Michał Szcześniak and Obiekt (Object) by Paulina Skibińska.
Polish Film Screenings in Istanbul
Until 27th of December at Pera Museum in Istanbul will take place the screenings of the Polish films.
"Ida" in Israeli Cinemas
Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will be released theatrically in Israel on December 25, 2014.
Awards for Polish Films in Spain
Two films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute received awards at the 52nd Gijón International Film Festival in Spain.
Polish Films Recognized in Tallinn
November 30 brought the closing of the 18th Black Nights International Film Festival in Tallinn. The focus on Polish cinema featured screenings of over 20 Polish films; Polish presence at the festival was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
Award for "Something Better to Come"
November 28 brought the closing of the 22nd edition of the IDFA International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam. The Special Jury Award in Main Competition went to Marzenie Julii (Something Better to Come), a film directed by Hanna Polak and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Camerimage Award for A. Odorowicz
Winners of the 22nd Camerimage IFF
The 22nd Camerimage International Film Festival, an event co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, drew to a close on November 22. The Golden Frog Award for Best Film in Main Competition went to Leviathan, a film directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev and lensed by Mikhail Krichman. The award for Friend of the Festival went to Agnieszka Odorowicz, General Director of the Polish Film Institute.
Polish Animations in Competition
Several Polish animated films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen at the 11th Animateka International Film Festival, which runs from December 8 through December 14 in Ljubljana.
3rd Poland Film Festival in Japan
The third edition of the Poland Film Festival in Japan will run from November 22 through December 26, 2014.
Kinoteka - Polish Film Festival in India
The Kinoteka Polish Film Festival will run from November 19 through December 12 in Bombay and New Delhi.
Polish Films at 2014 IDFA
Several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute have been selected for screening in competition and out of competition at the 22nd International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), which runs from November 19 through November 30, 2014.
Black Nights 2014: Spotlight on Polish Cinema
Over 20 Polish films will be shown at the 18th Black Nights International Film Festival in Tallinn. The event runs from November 14 through November 30, 2014. Polish presence at the festival is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Joanna" Nominated
On November 12, nominations for the Cinema Eye Honors, one of the top awards in the world of documentary filmmaking, were announced at Copenhagen's CPH:DOX festival. Among five titles nominated in the short film category is Joanna, a film directed by Aneta Kopacz and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Ida" Nominated for European Film Awards in Four Categories
Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received a total of five nominations for this year's European Film Awards: European Film, European Director (Paweł Pawlikowski), European Screenwriter (Paweł Pawlikowski and Rebecca Lenkiewicz), and two nominations for European Actress (Agata Kulesza and Agata Trzebuchowska). Łukasz Żal and Ryszard Lenczewski have been awarded the Carlo Di Palma Prize for European Cinematographer.
"Wałęsa" in France and Belgium
Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei (Wałęsa. Man of Hope), a film directed by Andrzej Wajda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will be released theatrically in France and Belgium on November 19, 2014.
