"Gabriel" Awarded at Schlingel
On Saturday, October 19, young actor Jan Rotowski accepted the Special Jury Prize of the 18th Schlingel Film Festival for the film Gabriel, directed by Mikołaj Haremski. This international children's film festival has been organized annually in Chemnitz since 1996.

Winners of the 29th WFF

Co-Production Agreement Between Poland and Israel
The recent co-production agreement between Poland and Israel entered into force on September 11, 2013, enabling co-production between partners from these two countries to apply for public funding in both states. The ratification of this agreement opens the legal path for applying for public funding in Israel for Polish-Israeli co-productions.

Ewa Wiśniewska received the Award for Best Actress at the 22nd Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival in China for her performance in Piąta pora roku (The Fifth Season of the Year), a film directed by Jerzy Domaradzki and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"The Congress" Among Europe's Best Animated Films
After announcing the list of 46 titles eligible for this year's European Film Awards, the European Film Academy presented three feature animated films in the running for the award for Best European Animation. One of the selected titles was The Congress, a film directed by Ari Folman and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
29th Warsaw Film Festival
The 29th edition of the Warsaw Film Festival will run from October 11 through October 20, 2013. The festival is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
Silver Eye Award Nominations
This year's Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival launches on October 24. The festival framework includes the tenth edition of the East Silver Market, which will feature a substantial number of Polish films, 15 of which have been nominated for the Silver Eye Award.
